Stitches: cross stitch, Holbein stitches
The template for this sampler is a 19th century sampler from Morocco that I found in the Victoria and Albert Museum's SAMPLERS catalog (1999).
The original from the 19th century is in beautiful colors, which unfortunately cannot be reconstructed because of the charm of the different fading of the plant colors and changes caused by UV light. Unfortunately, this cannot be understood. Therefore, one can only try to emphasize the impression of graphic sophistication and variety.
This is how a template for a 'Moroccan style' sampler was created.
The embroidery pattern is available individually or as a pack including linen, thread and needle.
Contents of the pack:
- 14-ply linen, unbleached
- Silk yarn Soie d'Alger in cream
- needle
