This sampler is owned by the Bavarian National Museum in Munich. The cloth shows the coat of arms and the monogram HAG of the Gruber family. The so-called floral baroque pattern is typical of Nuremberg samplers. Flowers also play a central role in this shawl. Even after so many centuries, the patterns still look fresh and cheerful.
